Comments From Our Customers

Steve Chesney, Custom/Repair Manager, Golfers Warehouse (Hartford, CT)
"In our custom and repair shop we install over 26,000 grips per year using Brampton's HF-100 grip solvent with great success. We find that we use less solvent to install grips than we did with mineral spirits and other solvents we have experimented with. It is also odorless and does not dry out our skin. Most importantly , it dries very fast allowing our customers to play their freshly regripped clubs usually within an hour! You can easily install a grip even without tape! We also install over 1,800 shafts per year using Brampton's 5/10 and 20/20 epoxy.

We are so confident in the bond that we use the 5/10 for 98% of our reshafting! Again our customers benefit by being able to get their club back sooner- we recommend that they wait 24hrs,but our die-hards have been known to hit their drivers an hour after being epoxied without failure. I strongly recommend the use of Brampton products."

Alternatives to Today's Grip Solvents

By Bob Dodds, PCS Journal

"The HF-100 is a new grip solvent, which the manufacturer claims has the following properties; it's non-toxic, it's non-flammable, it's odorless and it's effective with all standard grips. The manufacturer also talks about a small amount of lanolin being present in the formulation, which they claim will normally do away with the need for gloves while installing grips. From my testing in the new Technical Workshop here at PCS headquarters, I can say that the above claims are justified. This solvent is very pleasant to work with compared to some of the chemical solvents of the past. One of the benefits of the HF-100 is that is should be very economical to use because much less of it is needed than with the solvents you are familiar with."

A Safer Way to Get a Grip

By Nils Nelson, "Red's Approach", Links Profile

"Thanks to Brampton Technology Ltd, installing grips is no longer the pain in the neck it's been since the demise of easy-to-use but toxic chlorinated solvents. Just over a year ago, Brampton quietly introduced HF-100, an odorless, non-flammable, non-toxic "solution" to the problem of putting on grips. While many club builders and OEMs may use compressed air to install grips, just as many rely on any number of solvents that are often severely restricted by law.

I've been disappointed with the citrus-based grip solvents available form component companies. When I heard about HF-100, I called Brampton to learn more........"

"HF-100 is a non-toxic, non-flammable, odorless, colorless and is easy to use. My one-quart sample arrived in a spray bottle. Two or three sprays on the tape-wrapped shaft and one spray into the mouth of the grip, and - presto! - on it went. If anything, one is tempted to overuse The Solution at first because you can't believe so little is needed. If any should fall into your catch-pan, HF-100 is reusable."
